You are probably working hard to juggle family, life, and study
-
You are probably feeling tired
-
You might reach for the ‘not so healthy’ comfort foods more often.

Winter wellbeing tips
Choose nutrious food as often as you can. Don’t underestimate the humble soup! Nutritious, filling and comforting, it has less calories and guilt than those hot chips.
Keep hydrated - drink plenty of water and warm drinks. Try sipping herbal tea or lemon water.
Limit alcohol - try going dry for a month.
Be active as you can - exercising can really improve your mood.
Go for walks - walks on the beach are really invigorating even when raining, a short sharp burst along the beach can get the blood pumping and improve your mood.
Try indoor activities - such as swimming, the gym, yoga, or Zumba.
Establish a sleep routine - invest in a good pillow, and get those extra blankets on to regulate your body heat while sleeping (you will wake less).
Relax and unwind - try a relaxation app on your phone, take a hot bath, or do some relaxation exercises to wind down before bed.
Do an activity you enjoy - try your favourite movie or book when you want some time out from your busy schedule. Listen to your favouite music. Do what you love to boost your mood.
Try something new - Some of us enjoy cooking, baking, drawing, or playing an instrument. Challenge yourself to try a new activity.
Discomnnect - Turn off your phone, disconnect from the internet and screens for a couple of hours.
Spend time with your friends and family - plan weekly get-togethers, coffee and a walk, or pot luck dinners. Keep up your relationships and connections; positive people make us feel good!
Give them time and attention - focus on them when they talk, listen to what they say instead of thinking of all the things that need to be done.
Think of the coming months - winter is a great time to get positive and set goals for the rest of the year.
Be realistic - break goals down into small tasks. What do you want to achieve in the different areas of your life – health, work, personal, or social areas.
