Referencing software such as Mendeley and Zotero are tools designed to help organise your references, create bibliographies and citations and are free to download and use.
Referencing software allows you to organise, read and annotate documents in one place. Zotero and Mendeley are both free, easy-to-use tools that help you collect, organise, cite, and share your research sources. You can also import documents directly from the internet.
These tools make referencing much quicker and easier. However, it is advisable that you do a final check of your in-text citations and reference list to ensure they follow the conventions of the referencing style you are using.
