Spiritual health
Regardless of your faith or spiritual background, there are some universal ways to look after and grow your spiritual health.
Be creative
We were born to be creative. It doesn’t have to be art – you can be creative with anything in life. We all have something unique to express.
Take notice - be in awe
Take notice of the little things in life: the kindness of others, the dew on the plants, the mannerisms of your pet. Be in awe of the complex and stunning creation of our universe!
Do things for others
Hanging out with your loved ones and those you trust is important. Sometimes we neglect giving to others though. When you have the capacity, do things for other people, volunteer, invite someone for a meal, do a random act of kindness.
Gratitude
Being thankful for the little things in life will help you think more positively and unselfishly. Gratitude be really helpful in times of trial and uncertainty.
Have fun!
Laughter is good for the soul. Life doesn’t have to be all serious, we give you permission to do something enjoyable fills that unique tank of yours!
Pray/Meditate
Meditation may mean different things depending what faith or spiritual background you’re from. It could be prayer, ruminating on scriptures, mindfulness, or contemplation. Try not
to just empty the mind, but to fill it with good things.
Rest
We keep ourselves busy to avoid thinking about some of the heavy things in life. Taking time to rest, physically and mentally, is good for your body, mind and spirit.
Identity and purpose
Did you know there is no one the same as you in this world? That means you are unique! With so many ‘voices’ in our world telling us to be somebody different, knowing who you are and who you are created to be is good for our souls.
Self-love
Self-love is treating yourself the way you deserve. Forgive yourself and others, be kind to yourself, do things that fill your tank, look after your body and mind.
